What ART THOU bardfly?


​Bardfly is a Los Angeles-based, site-specific theatre company.
​
We do Shakespeare, and sometimes other stuff. We do it in bars, in parks, in places you can drink a beer and stop and smell the audience. We don't feel like English class and we won't let you miss the dirty jokes.

Shakespeare's either rolling in his grave or toasting us. 

WHEREFORE ART THOU?

Bardfly Theatre Co. envisions a Los Angeles where watching a play or other theatrical performance feels as obvious a choice on a night out as seeking out live music. We believe theatre, including Shakespeare, should feel fun and accessible and double as a social experience. 
We want to:
  • Appeal to audience members from all walks of life, not just “theatre people.” 
  • Bring people together, not in a dark room where they sit quietly and absorb art, but where they laugh, drink, eat, and socialize while watching the production. 
  • Help bring visibility and business to the restaurants, bars, and other spaces we partner with
  • Provide a collaborative community for our artists to create and have a damn good time together. ​
