NICOLA VANN (FOUNDER, ARTISTIC DIRECTOR & PRODUCER)

Nicola (Nickel - uh) started Bardfly in 2023 after ruminating on the damn thing for a decade. She aims to be relatively hands-off, and every production is a major collaboration, even when she's at the helm. Her vision for the company is the lovechild of her love of Shakespeare, her belief that live theatre should feel a lot more like live music, her time at UNC Chapel Hill as a Morehead-Cain scholar, and her international research conducted on alternative theatre venues. JOSH WOLONICK (FINANCE DIRECTOR & PRODUCER)

Josh Wolonick is a producer, actor, and financial strategist. He is passionate about leveraging the meeting of play, storytelling, and business to build sustainable & artistically ambitious work. After graduating from UNC Chapel Hill (where he met Nicola, in a play, of course), he worked as a professional actor in NYC while also writing financial journalism. After transitioning more fully to finance, he worked in private equity fundraising, consulted for production companies, and earned his MBA at USC. He currently manages financial planning and analysis for franchise businesses at Mattel. His Shakespeare resume includes acting, directing, and academic study, and he has taught theatre at the North Carolina Governor's School.
